Heavenly belonging, earthly nomads

Today, the view is a bit clearer, the sky less brown, stinking hot and it is not even summer yet.

We are still nomadic.  It is a strange existence this living but, not belonging.  We have no permanent address, no car in our name, no local bank account.

Heavenly belonging, earthly nomads.

Moving out of our comfort zone to the other side of the world has sunk that concept/lesson deep into my soul.  Without the move, that concept would have remained just a mental accent to understanding.  Our real home is not in this world.  We belong to a heavenly country, our “visa” has been purchased by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

The potter and I have had some conversations lately.  “Why did you make me this way?”  Why did you put this deep seated desire to nest in my heart?  Why the desire and no provision.  Remembering past provision brings flesh to the tiny mustard seed of faith that I so desire to grow into a massive tree.  He will provide!  Paul’s words about being content in all things stings true.  Yes stings…

Meanwhile in the waiting we have had some adventures.  Exploring with new found friends.  Eating in amazing places.  Getting lost and finding our way.  We are really good at U-turns, which are quite common here!  Generally having fun!
